Laverstoke ‘Ultimate’ Minute Steak Sandwich!
Who doesn’t love a steak sandwich? Ours is heavily loaded with juicy caramelised red onions, rare seared steak, punchy mustard mayonnaise. Garnished with a spicy watercress and rocket salad all crammed into a warm chargrilled ciabatta roll.
1 x 320gram Laverstoke Organic Beef Minute Steak
1/2 tbsp plain olive oil
Salt & Black Pepper
2 Medium sized Red Onions (Peeled and finely sliced)
100ml Laverstoke Organic Beef Stock
2 Ciabatta Rolls
60g Mustard Mayonnaise
50g Rocket/ Watercress Leaves
Melt the butter in a non-stick frying pan and add the sliced red onions. Saute the onion gently over a moderate heat until they become soft and begin to brown and caramelise (about 10 minutes). At this stage add the beef stock and reduce until it has virtually evaporated and the onions are tender sweet and sticky with beefy flavour. Set aside and keep warm.
Meanwhile split the Ciabatta rolls and brush lightly with olive oil. Heat a griddle pan.
Chargrill the ciabatta on the cut sides until nicely golden. Keep warm.
Prepare the minute steaks according to our cooking instructions.
Flash fry the steaks. Keeping Rare. Remove from the pan and place onto a pre-warmed plate to rest for a minute whilst you assemble the sandwich.
Spread a generous amount of mustard mayonnaise onto the base of the chargrilled warm ciabatta roll. Add the watercress and rocket salad (lightly dressed with a splash of olive oil)
Place on the rare minute steak slices. Spoon on the caramelised onions and top with the ciabatta. Voila Enjoy!
