Organic Meat & Food - a healthier lifestyle choice

Here at Laverstoke Park Farm we're passionate about organic meat and organic foods in general. In fact that’s why I set up the farm when I retired from the world of business and Formula One motor racing. My wife Clare and I were fascinated by the organic farming methods used around the turn of the last century, and we wanted to produce the healthiest, tastiest food for ourselves and our family.

In a world where more and more additives and artificial preservatives and colourings are being added to the meat and foods in our supermarkets, we wanted to have a supply of natural organic food we could trust where nothing but organic methods have been used to produce it. After all, when you eat organic food you know exactly what you are eating – and that has to be healthier. WE ARE BIODYNAMIC TOO!

Are Organic Foods Healthy Foods?!

It is very difficult to make a blanket claim that organic food is healthy food, because it does depend how the food is produced and handled by the time it reaches the consumer. What we are seeing at Laverstoke is that more and more people are buying from us because of problems caused by artificial additives, or substances added during the processing of the food. Our policy is to ensure that nothing unnatural gets added to our foods, so that they are not only organic foods but products free from artificial additives, flavourings and preservatives. We  hope that  by adhering to this policy our organic foods are also healthy foods.

Our Organic Meat - a better way to produce meat

What is so special about our organic meat? It begins with the soil, and we fertilise it with a compost tea that we make on the farm. This helps keep the microbes in the soil naturally healthy and produce lush grass. We plant our fields with our own unique blend of 31 grasses, herbs and clovers. It’s a sort of ‘mixed salad’ for the animals and gives our organic meats a unique flavour.

As a certified organic farm, we use no synthetic fertilisers or pesticides, meaning no unnatural chemicals find their way into our meat and subsequently your diet. We are now also certified as Biodynamic by Demeter, which is even more pure than organic.

The organic meat breeds we stock are pretty special too. We have unique herds of rare pigs, wild boar/pork cross, sheep and cattle. Our chickens are old-fashioned breeds as well and we are one of the few farms in the UK to have a herd of naturally-reared water buffalo. (They were not born on the farm which is why we can’t technically call them organic).

All our animals are more slow-growing than commercial, modern breeds. We rear them outdoors, with respect for their natural temperaments. This gives them a happier life as well as producing much tastier meat.

Finally, we process our livestock on our own farm, in our own specifically designed premises which guarantees no transportation and minimum stress for our animals. Our butchers mature our meats the traditional way by hanging on the bone to bring your organic meat to the peak of tenderness and flavour.

For many years, our organic meats were only available to our friends and family. Then we started supplying a few of Britain’s top Michelin-starred restaurants. Now, after ten years we have reached a size where we can offer our produce to the public. You can buy our organic meats online with FREE delivery on orders over £80. Choose from our organic lamb, organic beef, organic pork and organic chicken. Don’t forget also our award winning sausages as well, or try our naturally reared buffalo meat, steaks and burgers. You can even purchase our wonderfully creamy buffalo milk, buffalo milk ice cream and buffalo mozzarella!

Nothing tastes quite like Laverstoke Park organic food because we do things differently here. I often say that healthy soil produces healthy grass, which produces healthy food for healthy people. I’m so confident you will love every bite that we offer a full money back guarantee on everything you buy.

Choose the organic food option and enjoy the ‘Laverstoke Park’ experience – there is no better way to eat.
