Lymington
In 2006 the vegetable and fruit production arms of Laverstoke were established. Three acres of glass houses were acquired in Lymington. These have now been converted to full organic status and are in their last year of conversion to being fully biodynamic. This winter we installed a biofuel boiler, which runs on wood chip and which will enable us to have an early UK crop of strawberries, tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, French beans, mixed salad and cucumbers and herbs. These crops will be available during the hungry gap, providing a local source of salad crops at a much needed time.
In addition to the glasshouses, we have 130 acres of certified organic and biodynamic land at Walhampton, across the Lymington River. Here we grow many root and leaf crops.
We pick our produce daily, so you will be guaranteed fresh and great tasting vegetables.
In 2008 we will be growing a wide variety of crops on both sites, which we are marketing both locally and nationally. Please contact the Vegetable Production Manager Simon Frayne on 07766 995410, or Jane at the office 01590 683 139 (mobile 07747 806 621) if you require further information.
