Dairy Processing Supervisor
Laverstoke Park Farm is a market leader in their field and is committed to producing the highest quality produce. Our products are sold nationally in premier food halls, high end supermarkets and prestigious restaurants.
We have established a dairy processing plant on the farm to make our own buffalo mozzarella, yoghurts and the world’s best ice creams. We simply supply un-homogenised, pasteurized milk from our various milking animals which is packed on the farm.
These are exciting times for us here on the farm because our dairy processing plant will be launching yoghurt, hard cheeses and butter. Hence we are on the hunt for a “hands on” experienced Dairy Processing Supervisory who has strong managerial skills to manage a magnificent team of 7.
The Dairy Processing Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day to day dairy processing operations efficiently and effectively in our state of the art facility.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that daily production orders are fulfilled on time and within specification
- Controlling and ensuring the availability of Raw Materials and packaging materials.
- Evaluating the condition of machinery and equipment on a regular basis and ensuring that machinery and equipment is properly maintained.
- Establishing and maintaining safety awareness, including training staff on safe working procedures.
- Taking part in new product development projects.
Applicants must have a good understanding of and experience in hygiene standards, stock control, internal and external audits, and be experienced in working with processing equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification in dairy technology (preferably cheese) with experience in a similar role. You will require strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead by example, supervise and motivate a multi-cultural workforce.

Herds Person
Laverstoke Park Farm is an organic and biodynamic farm based in North Hampshire. The 2,500 acres are certified as biodynamic by Demeter and is classed as organic by the Soil Association. We are committed to producing the best tasting, healthiest food, without compromise. Currently we are recruiting for an experienced “Herds Person”, who will be responsible for the running of 400 acres and the welfare of 120 Buffalo.
Daily responsibilities include but not to be restricted to:
- Milking 120 Buffalo
- Record keeping
- And all general farm duties related to good health of the Buffalo
- To over see and manage relief staff
The ideal candidate will be responsible and have good knowledge and a keen interest of livestock and farming. Experience with cows is essential although training with Buffalo will be provided. Accommodation can be supplied if required.

Head Gardener/Grower Walled Garden
We are currently looking for a Head Gardener/Grower for our Walled Garden. The role will be responsible for growing the Estate and Farm shop vegetables.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing one full time member of staff and up to five casual workers during our busy season.
Daily vegetable preparation for the Estate House and Farm Shop.
Harvesting and picking vegetables
Weeding
Sowing
Planting
Pruning
Keeping records of organic and biodynamic applications and understanding the applications
Crop rotation in the walled garden plus 4 acres
Pruning the Orchard
The role will involve working with garden machinery such as, strimmers, rotavator and tractors.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about growing vegetables, has a flexible adaptable nature, is self motivated and reliable. An experienced vegetable grower would be desirable. A valid UK driving license is required.

Despatch Operative
This is an opportunity to join our Central Despatch team who are a vital part of the supply chain process. They oversee the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of a wide range of goods including food, dry goods, parts and other items. This role includes practical, ‘hands on’ work as well as some desk duties.
The ideal candidate must be a team player and have an ability to learn and adapt to processes and systems. They will ensure productivity targets are met, maintain computerized administration, automated storage and retrieval systems via a scanning system. They will assist in taking responsibility for the security of the building and stock.
They must also work well as part of a team as well as alone with supervision.
Main Duties:
- Picking, packing and distribution activity;
- Planning and monitoring the storage, delivery and dispatch of orders;
- Overseeing stock control and processing orders;
- Ensuring quality, delivery timed targets and objectives are met;
- Fulfilling objectives and directions from Management
- Coordinating the use of automated and computerized systems;
- Working to ensure set productivity targets are met;
- Maintaining standards of health and safety, security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely.
Required Skills:
- Forklift (Counter Balance license)

Technical Assistant
The role will be to support the food technical function, which is responsible for providing accurate information both internally and externally to suppliers and customers (customer questionnaires and technical queries)
Role:
- Generate accurate specifications for finished products and raw materials.
- Ensure all specifications meet the appropriate standard and are kept up to date with packaging, recipes etc.
- Liaise with product development teams in order to design and create effective product specifications for all products manufactured by the company, in accordance with procedures.
- Maintain the Quality Management Systems in accordance with BRC V5, Internal Reviews/Audits & Customer Requirements, which includes document control for technical/operating standards, policies and procedures.
- To ensure any third party accreditations are maintained and adhered to.
- To be an active member of the HACCP team.
- Dealing with the FSA and EHO.
The ideal candidate will already be working in a technical role and ready to take the next step in their career. Packaging knowledge is desirable, along with experience of working with the FSA and EHO.

General Labourers
The countdown is on for Vine and Hop pruning here at Laverstoke Park Farm, which means we require four general labourers to join our existing pruning team.
The pruning and general maintenance of our Vines and Hops starts on the 15th January and runs through until March 2012.
This position is best suited to individuals who are both physically fit and able to work on their own initiative. A strong work ethic is required, along with a flexible approach to the day to day duties.

2012 Harvest
Harvest time is great fun here at Laverstoke Park Farm and generally runs from mid-September until the beginning of October, weather dependent.
We require up to 15 pickers, who are physically fit, reliable and eligible to work in the UK.
