There are two types of meat that Laverstoke Park Farm is very notable for - buffalo and wild boar.
Asian Water Buffalo Meat
We have the largest herd of naturally reared buffalo in the UK, with over 2,500 head of cattle of which 30% are meat cattle and 70% a dairy animals. We've won awards for our buffalo steaks and although tasting like beef, when roasting it needs cooking differently because the meat is lower in fat.
Organic Free Range Wild Boar
Although the breeding of wild boar for meat is growing Laverstoke Park's wild boar are reared organically and the boar roam free range in our fence woods. A richer meat than pork, these animals were the fore-runner of the domestic pig.
