Organic Free Range Chickens
You can tell straight away that this is no ordinary chicken. Firstly it has a different shape – strong and long in the back with firm, meaty legs. That’s because our chickens are an old-fashioned breed that lives longer and grows more slowly than its harried modern cousins. We also let them run around the farm, foraging for food, so naturally they’re stronger, leaner and fitter. Their totally natural diet includes our unique pastures planted with 31 herbs, grasses and clovers, as the birds like to nip the tops off. When you come to taste it, you’ll really notice the difference. This meat has an incredible rich depth of flavour and the texture is excellent – really firm and meaty. It’s really like turning back the clock to experience how chicken used to taste over a century ago.

Not the product ordered as the one sent weighed 2.4 kg, but was a good bird nevertheless with finely flavoured firm but tender meat. Previous smaller birds have been excellent, and would be difficult to beat.
